Co-Host The Med Edit Podcast
Dr. Jessica Gray is a board certified Family Medicine physician, wife, and mother with a passion for education and women’s health. She completed her undergraduate work at Texas Tech University where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Science and graduated from the Honors College. She then went on to study at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine where she obtained her medical degree. She completed a residency at the Texas Tech Family Medicine residency program in Lubbock where she also served as Chief Resident. Upon graduation she joined the UMC Physicians group where she currently works as a Family Medicine physician with a focus on women’s and adolescent health.
She is passionate about preventive care, health maintenance, and overall women’s health including mental healthcare.
In addition to practicing in clinic, she is a professor for the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and serves as faculty. She also volunteers on multiple nonprofit boards including the Lubbock Children's Health Clinic and the West Texas March of Dimes.
She has been awarded Lubbock’s Chamber of Commerce Top 20 Under 40 Award as well as being named Texas Monthly Magazine’s Rising Star for two years in a row. Dr. Gray was awarded the prestigious UMC Hospital System’s Pillar of Growth Award. She has been honored with the 2023 YWCA Women of Excellence Award in Medicine and as a finalist for the KLBK Remarkable Women of the South Plains Award.
Dr. Gray is a fellow of the American Association of Family Physicians. She is a published author in medical education and the co-host of The Med Edit Podcast.

Dr. Cari Sorrell is a board-certified gastroenterologist, wife, and mother to two young boys. Dr. Sorrell attended undergraduate school at the University of North Texas where she majored in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Sorrell attended medical school at UT Health Sciences Center Houston followed by residency at UT Health Sciences Center San Antonio. She completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at UT Health Sciences Center San Antonio with her focus in upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and hepatology. She is current double boarded by both the American College of Internal Medicine and the American College of Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology subspecialty.
Dr. Sorrell works as a locums gastroenterologist currently traveling the state with her skills. She is passionate about education and women’s health.
